The EYOS team have together completed over 1500 expeditions. Perhaps the most challenging was Victor Vescovo’s 'Five Deeps Expedition', described by the late Don Walsh as “the most ambitious exploration expedition of the Century.”
As the expeditions leader, Rob McCallum, FN ‘09, was tasked with planning, managing and leading the helical circumnavigation that successfully reached the deepest point of each of the 5 oceans, and became the pathfinder to the exploration of the last frontier on Earth; the deep ocean.
Join us to discover what went into creating this highly successful and very complex expedition. Rob will provide an honest appraisal of the challenges, and how a diverse group formed one of the most successful teams in modern exploration. Their strategies and innovations, many developed in oceanic isolation while working under extreme pressure are still in use today, and are valuable contributions to any expedition playbook.
This event will be held both in person and virtually (you must sign up & note virtual to get the link!).
Open to members and the public. Donations appreciated.
