ExPLORERS CLUB New England Chapter

The Explorers Club is an international organization founded in 1904 to support field research, scientific exploration, and environmental conservation. Our global headquarters is located at 46 East 70th Street in New York City.

Since its inception 120 years ago, the Club has served as a meeting point and unifying force for explorers and scientists worldwide. We actively encourage public interest in exploration and the sciences through its public lecture programs, publications, travel programs, and other events. The Club also maintains Research Collections, including a library and map room, to preserve the history of the Club and to assist those interested and engaged in exploration and scientific research.

The recent founding of the EC50 and the NGEN are bringing new energy and diverse global membership to the club.

The EC50 recognizes 50 extraordinary people each year who are doing remarkable work to promote science and exploration, but remain under the radar and out of the limelight. These 50 individuals are exploring, inspiring, and creating the future—the future of the planet, life upon it, and the boundless possibilities that await us all. (This is by nomination.)

The Next Generation of Exploration Community, known as NGEN, aims to foster collaboration, mentorship, and education among Club members while promoting the importance of exploration in addressing global challenges. This is a vibrant and growing network of younger members.
